Extremely relaxing Went on this trip after a 3 hour guided tour around the city centre with my colleagues, a group of teachers from a local primary school. The barge was spacious and well set out. We, as a group ordered from a set menu which was delicious as well as filling - the chicken breast was as tender and juicy as it was huge! The soup starter was also very tasty and the sticky toffee pudding and custard was amazing - that's a huge compliment coming from someone who rarely eats puddings as I prefer savouries. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pace of service was timed to coincide with the 2 hour trip. This made the meal and the trip extremely relaxing especially after such a long walk on what was a very blustery day! You will not be disappointed! Cannot recommend this highly enough, the boat was spacious, very comfortable and warm inside and very clean. A very relaxing cruise to Salford Quays. We went on the evening cruise and was very beautiful with everything all lit up at the Quays. Informative commentary onboard, whenever we passed a place of interest. The food was really nice too, with spag bol, warm garlic bread and a delicious sticky toffee pudding and custard for afters. Drink prices good too. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try something different than eating out in a normal restaurant or even a surprise for a loved one. A very special evening Well, well Eamon.. you and the team certainly “nailed it”. That’s a quote by the way from one of my guests. My Birthday was fabulous and being on the boat turned it into a very special evening for me, my family and friends. Everyone commented on how different it was.. makes a change from boring old function rooms! People loved the boat and really enjoyed the surroundings and atmosphere it creates. Delicious Fabulous cruise today around Salford Quays and such a beautiful day - blue skies and bright sunshine made the quays look fantastic. The Emmeline Pankhurst boat was very smart and the tables were beautifully set for lunch. We were seated with four lovely people - Margaret, David, Mags and Jenny - and we were amazed at how a delicious 3-course lunch could be prepared and presented piping hot on a small boat. Fresh and wholesome What a fantastic dining experience! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but what we got far exceeded our expectations. Well spaced tables beautifully laid with crisp linen. Though the menu choice was limited, the fayre was fresh and wholesome. The wine was well priced and a good selection too. Though night set in fast, the lights by the water were lovely. Friendly and courteous We had a very nice trip on the L S Lowry barge yesterday, from Castlefield to the War Museum. We were a party of six persons. The meal was excellent and the staff were very friendly and courteous. The boat was very clean and tidy and had a very warm welcoming atmophere. Looking forward to the next trip. Fantastic trip I booked the boat for our GP practice Christmas Party. We always have our party in January. I can only say it was the very best party we have ever had. The food, staff and ambience were outstanding. The sights of Manchester from the boat were fantastic. Thank you to all the staff, you made us feel very welcome and really looked after us. Repeat experience Cruising for 3 hours on the Bridgewater Canal and River Irwell on board the LS Lowry is a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday. Add to that add a 3 course Sunday lunch which is of an excellent quality followed by coffee and drinks makes the experience even more enjoyable, so much so that I have repeated experience on several occasions (the apricot tart was superb). A day 2 remember 4eva I would like to thank you all for the lovely day my partner and I had on board The Lowry...it was better than i thought it would be, the food was so nice and very hot which surprised me because you don't think it would be coming from a boat kitchen (sorry Eamon) but came very neat and tidy on your plate very well presented which pleased me. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I will be going on the LS Lowry whenever I can because Eamon and his staff make you so welcome, you will want to return and you will tell all your pals just like I have, for along time to come .....thanx Eamon and your great crew....well done to you all. A more relaxed pace of life Dinner aboard the L.S.Lowry is an experience I am not likely to forget. When I booked the boat for my 40th birthday I was concerned about the quality of food that could be prepared on such a boat. How wrong I was! The mushroom salad starter was simple but oh so effective with every ingredient bursting with freshness and flavour. The main course of poached chicken breast in white wine with asparagus was simply delightful, and everyone on board raved about for weeks afterwards. The dessert I had (there was a choice of fresh fruit salad or profitiroles) the profitiroles was fantastic. In all the cruise through Manchester was very enlightning seeing the city through new eyes.
